Being a woman in tech, a male-dominant industry, can be challenging. Being a racialized woman in tech adds another layer of frustration. What do you do when you want to advance in your career but feel like the system won’t see you as a leader? For Melonie de Guzman, her frustration led her to our Kickstartology community and online group coaching program. In her time in the Align to Thrive program, lots happened, including a global pandemic and lockdowns. But Melonie had learned how to manage her mind through uncertainty and go towards her big vision despite what life had thrown her way. She created her own community, #WomenInTech, at the large telecommunications and media company where she worked, providing networking opportunities and other resources for women just like her.
